High School Research Project

This research project consisted of a technical and economic analysis of a potential installation of photovoltaic solar panels in a family home. The main objective was to study the feasibility of using solar energy as a renewable source for self-consumption, with the aim of reducing dependence on the electrical grid and minimizing environmental impact.

In addition to designing the system and analyzing energy production, I also designed and implemented a monitoring system to record and analyze in real time different data related to the installation: voltage, current, generated power, and electricity consumption. This system was based on microcontrollers and sensors, and allowed data visualization through a custom interface.

The project included the calculation of the expected annual energy production, optimization of the panels’ orientation and tilt, analysis of the household’s electricity consumption profile, and calculation of the return on investment (ROI).
